  • From the West Midlands, I grew up in Worcestershire, completed Medical School and Post Graduate Training at University Hospital Birmingham, received a Diploma in Tropical Medicine at the Liverpool School and spent 6 months on the Burmese Border with MSF 2002. •  In 2016 I did a sabbatical in Crohn’s and colitis and Therapeutic Endoscopy with Simon Travis and team at The John Radcliffe, Oxford.
  • In my spare time I enjoy trail running – having run about 20 marathons including a few ultramarathons – as a way to relax in the Rotorua surrounds, knowing it is one of the best spots in the world for this.
  • I live semi-rurally with 2 dependents, at each end of the age spectrum. I am lucky though as get to go sailing and scuba diving sometimes. Attempting free diving, most memorable moment so far, was seeing a turtle in the shallows around Tuhua.
